Get To Know Dr. Richard Shen

Dr. Richard Shen is the new owner and second generation of Beacon Dental Center. He is spearheading a renewed commitment to the patient experience. As a native resident of Massachusetts and son of Dr. Zhang, Dr. Shen has received high levels of training at each step of his education.

Dr. Shen attended New York University to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, graduating early and with honors. He returned to Massachusetts to continue his studies at Harvard School of Dental Medicine to receive his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. He completed advanced training at the prestigious General Practice Residency at James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, NY.

Dr. Shen returned to Brookline, MA to take over the family practice at 1842 Beacon St. He provides comprehensive dentistry services, including Invisalign, implants, and cosmetic dentistry. He is a member of prominent dental associations including the Metropolitan District Dental Society, Mass Dental Society, American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Academy of Facial Esthetics.

Dr. Shen loves to try new restaurants, cheer on the local sports teams, and spend time with family and friends.

Get To Know Dr. Lihua Zhang

Lihua Zhang, DMD, of Beacon Dental Center, offers comprehensive dental care to men, women, and children in Brookline, Massachusetts. Dr. Zhang has over 30 years of experience in advanced dental procedures, orthodontics, oral surgery, and more.

Dr. Zhang began her formal training in dentistry at the Peking University School of Stomatology, in Beijing, China. In 1994, after relocating to the United States, she completed her Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.

Having established her private practice in 1995, Dr. Zhang has since gained valuable experience and skills in general and advanced dental care.

Dr. Zhang also provides excellent preventive and restorative dental care, including dental cleanings, Invisalign®, root canals, and dental implants, using state-of-the-art technologies, such as the iTero Element 5D Plus scanner, and advanced techniques. She is a member of prominent dental associations like the Metropolitan District Dental Society, Mass Dental Society, and American Dental Association.

Dr. Zhang is married with three children. In her free time, she enjoys running, skiing, and gardening.
