Dr. Micheal Sullivan

For Dr. Michael Sullivan, of locally owned Beacon Dental Center, the love for dentistry began at an early age as he watched his father, David Sullivan, DDS, MS, FACD, share his passion for the profession.

Dr. Sullivan’s passion for and dedication to organized dentistry later grew through his relationship with his wife’s grandfather, Jack W. Gottschalk, DDS, recipient of the prestigious Callahan Award from the Ohio Dental Association.

Dr. Michael Sullivan obtained his undergraduate training in biochemistry from the College of Charleston in South Carolina while supplementing his education with courses at the National University of Ireland at Galway and Xavier University in Cincinnati.

He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and completed extracurricular externships during his training at the University of Cincinnati and Louisiana State University of Shreveport.

Dr. Sullivan’s ongoing dedication to education is evident through his continued pursuit of advances in dental medicine and oral health. His commitment to clinical excellence and personal development are embodied through his passion for utilizing a team-based interdisciplinary approach to comprehensive dental care.

Dr. Sullivan is a clinical lecturer, teaching other doctors several times each year. He is also the author of the textbook, The Illustrated Handbook of Clinical Dentistry, published by Lexi-Comp, and available on Amazon. Dr. Sullivan’s publications are used in dental schools and professional offices WorldWide.

Dr. Sullivan lives in Charlevoix with his two children, Jack and Ellie. The family enjoys boating, mountain biking, skiing, golfing, and, most of all, traveling.
